Soneke High School's Interhouse Athletics Competition was a mind-blowing and momentous event, marking the premier annual event of the year.
Held on February 8th, 2025, at Jan Kriel School, the competition saw a large turnout of enthusiastic parents and learners. The day was marked by color and joy, with the Grade 8 students bringing their A-game, showcasing high spirits, singing, and cheering throughout the day. They truly embodied the spirit of the event, bringing an infectious energy to the competition.
This year's Cheerleading was a spectacle of the event. It was a close call for the judges as the four groups stepped up their game through creativity and dancing. Falcons took the Cheerleading title for the fourth consecutive year, cementing their indisputable reputation. The track and field events were dominated by Jaguars and Falcons, with the Jaguars winning the track and field title for the third time in four years.
Mrs. Martheze, the House Head of the Jaguars, attributed her team's success to their hard work, dedication, and teamwork. "It's really hard work to come up with a strong team, especially when all teams are up there with you and ready to pounce," she said. Coach Kuda, the head of sport, also praised the event, saying it was the biggest and most competitive ever, with exceptional displays of sportsmanship and camaraderie from all four houses. "We hope to be bigger and even better next year," he said. The Venom house was the heartbeat of the event, keeping everyone on their toes with their non-stop spirit, singing, and dancing. Led by Cohen Samuel and Ried, the Venom house received the spirit award, a testament to their infectious energy and enthusiasm.

With records broken, new champions crowned, and unforgettable memories created, this year's event has set a new benchmark for future competitions.
