Emotional Assembly Honors Departing Students
Friday, 11 October, marked a bittersweet day at Soneike High School as the school community gathered to bid farewell to the Grade 12 class of 2024. An emotional and vibrant assembly, directed by Coach Turner, celebrated the students' journey and achievements.
The program showcased the talented Grade 12s, with each class taking to the stage to display their unique style. Manuel once again stunned the audience with his incredible voice, while a memorable dance performance with Principal Mrs. Baker stole the show.
However, the highlight of the day belonged to 12A, whose grand entrance left everyone in awe. Arriving in a taxi, accompanied by lively music, the students showcased impressive dance moves both inside and outside the vehicle, radiating unity, love, and excitement.
Heartfelt farewell speeches followed, as the Grade 12s expressed gratitude to teachers, non-teaching staff, school management, and their fellow learners. The poignant addresses reflected on memories, lessons learned, and the bonds formed during their time at Soneike High.
The assembly concluded with a moving guard of honor, escorting the departing students to the exit gate. As they walked out of the school for the last time, emotions ran high. The Grade 12s made the most of their final day, donning colorful shirts adorned with signatures, messages, and artwork. Some even opted for gender-swapped clothing, adding to the festive atmosphere.
