Eike News, Farewell to CIOS Netherlands

A Bittersweet Farewell: CIOS Group from Netherlands Departs Soneike High School

The past two days saw the CIOS group from Netherlands' time at Soneike High School come to a close, and although the storm outside washed away some of the planned activities, the fun and camaraderie continued unabated indoors.

One of the highlights of the last days was the collaborative effort between the two groups to create a video showcasing the Soneike High School CAT lab's need for a solar system to combat load shedding and enhance learning. Coach Kuda and Coach Turner brought the energy and enthusiasm to the forefront, making the final day an unforgettable one.

The final dinner was a resounding success, with a mouth-watering spit braai, butternut, creamy spinach, and more, specially prepared for our guests. Mrs. Baker opened the dinner with heartfelt thanks to the coaches, cooks, and admin for their hard work and dedication. She also commended each member of the CIOS group, including their teachers, and wished them a safe journey as they departed for Wellington. The evening was filled with joy and celebration as the kids sang and danced together, marking a successful week with their new Dutch friends.

Despite the storm outside, the warmth and connections forged during this week will be cherished by all. As we bid farewell to the CIOS group, we look forward to welcoming the second group arriving on Monday, 15 July 2024.

We can't wait to see what new experiences and memories await us!
