Soneike High Celebrates Sporting Excellence
On the 22nd of November, our school community came together to celebrate the achievements of our talented athletes at the annual Sports Awards. The event, held at the Van Riebeeck Hall in Kuilsriver, was a resounding success, with our parents and learners dazzling in their formal black and gold attire.
The evening was a testament to the dedication and hard work of our athletes, coaches, and sports staff. The Head of Sport, Coach Kuda, was instrumental in making the event a reality, and his efforts did not go unnoticed.
The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the prestigious Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year awards. Congratulations to Mihle Mgcoko, who took home the award for Sportsman of the Year, and Sherzelle Brown, who was crowned Sportswoman of the Year! Their outstanding achievements and commitment to their respective sports have earned them this well-deserved recognition.
In addition to honoring our individual athletes, we also took the opportunity to recognize the achievements of our teams. Special congratulations go to our U19 Boys' Soccer and Girls' Soccer teams, who both won their respective leagues. We also celebrated the incredible success of our Drummies team, who have made us proud with their national and international achievements.
We are incredibly proud of all our learners' achievements and look forward to another successful year of sports at Soneike HighSchool.
