Soneike Shines again at HESOP

Soneike High School Students Shine at Heritage Education Schools Outreach Programme (HESOP) Provincial Competition

In an outstanding display of knowledge, passion, and dedication, Team Soneike from Soneike High School emerged victorious at the HESOP Provincial competition held on August 17, 2024.

This marks the second consecutive year that our students have taken top honors, solidifying our school's commitment to preserving and celebrating our rich cultural heritage. Micaela Titus, Sibongakonke Mentyisi, Vanya Fortuin, and Aviwe Sombalo represented Soneike High School with distinction, demonstrating their expertise and enthusiasm for heritage preservation in the modern era.

Their impressive performance has earned them a spot at the national competition, taking place at the Tsitsikamma National Park in the Eastern Cape from September 23-27, 2024. The HESOP program is designed to educate young people about their cultural heritage and empower them to become custodians of our collective history. By participating in this initiative, our students have not only gained valuable knowledge but also developed essential skills in research, critical thinking, and collaboration.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Team Soneike on their remarkable achievement and wish them all the best as they prepare to represent our school and province at the national level.

We are confident that they will make us proud and bring home the title! This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and support staff. We celebrate this success and look forward to many more achievements in the future.
